Election day, Tuesday, November 4th, can’t come soon enough for most Colorado voters, but, regardless of how all those attack ads make you feel, the question still stands of which color our state will chose to be on that fateful day. Republican red? Democrat blue? Purple? Mauve?

Just over a month ago the Plummer School House closed its doors as Fort Collins’ premiere house show venue. Around the same time the Alley House, the other cornerstone house venue, entered into hibernation. And while it’s mostly a matter of renters and organizers moving out of town, the waning scene has left a gap in Fort Collins’ local music community.

In the history of popular music in America, Athens, Georgia had its moment in the eighties. Seattle had it’s own in the early nineties. And now, in late naughties (2000’s), is Denver making its own mark?
